SONNY HANSLEY

Associate Head Coach

Coach Charles (Sonny) Hansley is ELEV8’s Assistant Baseball Coach. He grew up in Chicopee Mass, achieving both baseball and basketball milestones at the collegiate level while attending American International College in Springfield, MA. As a college basketball player, he competed in two NCAA Division 2 National Championships. In his baseball coaching career, Coach Hansley won over 440 games in 12 seasons.

Coach Hansley began his professional coaching career in 1987 as Nova Southeastern University Head Baseball Coach, serving until 2000. He then coached at Plantation High School from 2001 to 2006 and at Western High School from 2006 to 2011 where in 2011 he also served as the High School Guidance Counselor.

Coach Hansley, has been recognized as for his skills as:
-Florida Sun Conference Year Coach of the Year-1997.
-Florida Sun Conference Coach of the Coach of the Year-1994.
-President, Florida Sun Conference-1991-1993.
-NAIA District 7 Athletic Administration of the Year-1993
-Recognized in the Nova Southeastern University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Mr. Hansley received a BS from American International College and an MA from Springfield College. He lives with his wife, Donna, in Delray Beach, Florida.

Coach Hansley brings to ELEV8 his enthusiasm, his love for kids and his love of the game.
